Candida
Candida is a single-celled fungus that is present in the genital and intestinal tract, and when over production occurs can cause infections including diaper rash, vaginitis, and thrush. Candida can affect various parts of the body and manifest as symptoms in the mouth, ears nose, toenails, fingernails, gastrointestinal tract, and vagina. Some symptoms include constipation, diarrhea, colitis, abdominal pain, headaches, bad breath, rectal itching, memory loss, impotence, memory loss, mood swings, prostatitis, canker sores, persistent heartburn, muscle and joint pain, sore throat, congestion, nagging cough, numbness in the face or extremities, tingling sensations, congestion, acne, night sweats, sever itching, clogged sinuses, PMS, burning tongue, white spots on tongue and in the mouth, extreme fatigue, vaginitis, kidney and bladder infections, arthritis, depression, hyperactivity, hypothyroidism, adrenal problems, and even diabetes. Those suffering from candida should eat vegetables, fish, and gluten-free grains such as brown rice and millet. Eat plain yogurt containing live active cultures and supplement with acidophilus or bifidus to help restore the normal balance of flora. Eat flax seed, oats, or some other form of fiber daily. Avoid all sugars, including fruit, and yeast products. Aged cheeses, alcohol, baked goods, chocolate, dried fruits, fermented foods, all grains containing gluten, ham, honey, nut butters, pickles, potatoes, raw mushrooms, soy sauce, sprouts, and vinegar should be avoided. Olive leaf extract, aloe vera juice, and wild oregano oil can also be used against candida.
