Headaches
Most people suffer from headaches at one time or another and the most common causes include stress, tension, anxiety, allergies, constipation, caffeine, consumption, eyestrain, hunger, sinus pressure, muscle tension, hormonal imbalances, TMJ, trauma to the head, nutritional deficiencies, alcohol, drugs, tobacco, fever, and exposure to irritants including pollution, perfume, and aftershave. Chronic headaches may be a sign of an underlying health problem such as food allergies, dehydration, anemia, bowel problems, brain disorders, hypertension, bruxism, hypoglycemia, sinusitis, and spinal misalignment.
Eat a well-balanced diet and include protein with every meal. Use fiber daily and drink plenty of water. Avoid chewing gum, ice cream, iced beverages, and salt. Try eliminating foods containing tyramine including alcohol, bananas, cheese, chicken, chocolate, citrus fruits, cold cuts, herring, onions, peanut utter, pork, smoked fish, sour cream, vinegar, wine, and fresh-baked yeast products. Also try eliminating phenylalanine, found in aspartame, and monosodium glutamate (MSG), and nitrites, found in hot dogs and lunch meats).
